Invisalign® Braces: What Is Accelerated Orthodontics?

Here at Vibrant Smile Dentistry, we want to help you achieve a confident smile as quickly as possible with the use of accelerated orthodontics. Acceleration uses new technology to drastically shorten the time you need to wear aligners and speed up the process.

How Does Acceleration Work?

With the use of the newest dental technology, straight teeth are possible in only 90–120 days!

First we start with x-rays to see if Acceleration is right for you. We then complete an oral exam for a better understanding of the bone structure beneath your gums.

We then numb your mouth to make the procedure more comfortable.

Acceleration works through the use of pinhole treatments between teeth. This is designed to help the bone between your teeth, allowing the process to move more quickly and more comfortably than was previously possible with any kind of braces.

Why Should I Be Interested in Acceleration for Invisalign Braces?

Invisalign has made straightening teeth easier and more comfortable than was previously possible. Wearing metal wires and brackets for years without being able to remove them in the process is a nightmare of the past. Although it no longer takes the years that traditional metal braces take, most patients are still happy to shave as much time off the process as possible to get to their beautiful new smile quicker.

Acceleration makes the best use of your time. By using acceleration, you can cut down your procedure time by anywhere from a quarter to one half of the time. For many, it only takes 90 days. You can have your new smile in time for a special event or the beginning of a new school year.

For some patients, you can begin your Invisalign journey when one school year ends, and take them off by start of the next school year!

Acceleration is only available by seeing a trained dentist in person. No mail order aligners can offer you the opportunity to cut your procedure time by up to 70%.

Aftercare For Acceleration Patients

After your Acceleration treatment, there is no down time. You can return to work or school immediately. For the first 48 hours following your procedure, we recommend you avoid anti-inflammatory medications such as aspirin or ibuprofen. Only Tylenol is allowed if needed for discomfort. Acceleration works due to an inflammatory reaction. Avoid all spicy foods and citric acid. Foods such as oranges or red pepper could cause discomfort. We may have you rinse with hydrogen peroxide as well as provide you with more personalized instructions based on your case. After a few days, discomfort should subside and you should feel back to normal.
